Friendship for sick

A “DEATH café” is to be held in Henley on May 13.

A “DEATH café” is to be held in Henley on May 13.

Organised by Oxfordshire Befriending for Life, a friendship service for people living with a life-limiting illness, it will take place at the Christ Church Centre in Reading Road on May 13 as part of Dying Matters week.

The café will give small groups of people the opportunity to reflect on their own experiences of death and dying.

Volunteer Katherine Adams said: “This usually leads to some wonderful conversations about us all making the most of our finite lives.

“Death is such a taboo subject and the death café is a great opportunity for people to feel comfortable and safe talking about what can invariably be a difficult subject to introduce into everyday conversation.”
