Scrabble for elderly

SCRABBLE sessions for the elderly are to be held monthly at Sonning Common library from next month.

SCRABBLE sessions for the elderly are to be held monthly at Sonning Common library from next month.

Organiser Liza Upton said: “I was introduced to a lady in her eighties who lives on her own in Sonning Common and I now visit her as often as I can as she doesn’t have many visitors.

“I invited her over for tea a couple of weeks ago and I asked her if there was anything that she would like to do if she could. She replied that she would love to play scrabble, so I told her that I would organise something.”

The sessions will be free and refreshments will be provided by library staff. The first will be on May 3 from 10am to noon.
