Mencap Meteor Club

ABOUT 30 members of the Mencap Meteor Club took part in a special performance of Sleeping Beauty.

ABOUT 30 members of the Mencap Meteor Club took part in a special performance of Sleeping Beauty.

The show, which was held at Rotherfield Greys village hall last month, had been postponed from January due to poor weather.

Melba Pitt wrote and narrated the play, which was directed by Sally Wiggin.

Costumes were loaned by the Henley Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society.

Paul Barrett, chairman of the South Oxfordshire Mencap group, said: “It went very well. They so enjoyed doing it and the audience was very enthusiastic.

“Some of the performers showed sides of themselves we had never seen before.”

The Mencap Meteor Club meets every Thursday to take part in a variety of activities.
