A SUMMER party will be held in Ewelme next Saturday (August 24) from 8pm to 1am.

Party on the Pitch will include music from the Zefrones, who will play covers from the last four decades.

Up to 500 people could attend the event on Ewelme Common, which will feature the launch of Persian Fire, a new shisha hire business based in the village.

A paella supper is included in the ticket price and there will be a cash bar and ice cream from Daisy’s vintage ice cream van.

A raffle will be drawn on the night, with prizes including a two-night stay at the Oxford Castle Malmaison hotel and a jeroboam bottle of rioja. The proceeds will go to charities and projects in the village as well as the RAF Benevolent Fund. People attending the party will be able to choose which cause to support.

Organiser Ella Pickard said: “I wanted to put something back into the community and thought this would be a nice fun thing to do and hopefully it will bring the village together.”

Tickets cost £15 and are available by emailing ewelmeevents@gmail.com or sending a cheque made payable to Ewelme Events for the number of tickets required, along with a stamped, self-addressed, envelope to Ewelme Events, Little Levers Cottage, Parsons Lane, Ewelme, OX10 6HN. They can also be purchased from Ewelme store or the Shepherds Hut pub.
