A FORMER Olympic rower has been appointed a county advisor for the National Farmers’ Union.

A FORMER Olympic rower has been appointed a county advisor for the National Farmers’ Union.

Annie Vernon, who won a silver medal at the Beijing Olympics and competed at London 2012, will advise farmers and growers in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

Ms Vernon, who grew up on her parents’ dairy farm in Cornwall and now lives in Henley, said: “This is an exciting new role within the NFU and I am really looking forward to working for farmers and growers across the three counties.

“I am also keen to forge stronger relationships with the relevant organisations that have an impact on our members’ businesses in this diverse farming area.”
