WATLINGTON in Bloom has launched a calendar of local scenes. Co-ordinator Terry Jackson had the idea of selling a calendar to show off some of the hundreds of photos she has taken of the town. Photos by Ann Jollye and Tom Bindolph are also featured.
St Leonard’s Church is among the more obvious Watlington landmarks which are included in the calendar alongside more unusual scenes such as the town’s roofscape.
Mrs Jackson said: “I wanted to try and make it appeal to everybody, even people who aren’t from Watlington.”
Chiltern Business Centre, Crossroads Veterinary Centre, Pelican Developments, Brendan Hagan and the Tree Barn are among the local businesses supporting the project.
All proceeds will be put towards Watlington in Bloom’s upcoming projects which include planting a community orchard.
Celebrity chef Raymond Blanc has agreed to buy some trees which will be planted in Hill Road between Watlington and District care home and Watlington Surgery.
lThe Watlington in Bloom calendar costs £9.99 (including an envelope to post it) and is available from the post office and the Co-operative.
