Henley Bridge Rotary Club

HENLEY Bridge Rotary Club was pleased to receive a visit from 1090 district governor John Greening.

HENLEY Bridge Rotary Club was pleased to receive a visit from 1090 district governor John Greening.

He said it was the 37th club he had visited out of 63 clubs in the district.

Mr Greening praised the club’s fund-raising and gift of more than £27,000 to local and international charities during the last year.

President Mike Pooley welcomed three prospective members and said one of the club’s aims this year was to increase membership of local business people and newly retired people to help continue the service to the community and international projects.

Peter Wilkinson reported that the Henley half marathon on October 13, which the club organises, was well on course to have 2,000 entries.

This would be followed by the Sue Ryder Halloween fireworks night in Nettlebed on October 26. The club is also organising a big band Forties dance at Henley town hall on January 25, supporting the Mayor’s charities. Mayor Stefan Gawrysiak is a member of the club.
