OUR fourth meeting was good and varied and there was another excellent turnout of 20-plus people.

The aim is provide a self-help networking affinity group for mutual support under the umbrella of the Henley Partnership. We have quarterly meetings with guest speakers and a networking session plus regular email exchanges on topics of interest.

We discussed various projects, such as the duck race, and Lizzie Williams kindly offered to co-ordinate a new Henley fun run in 2014. There were excellent presentations from Ros Taylor, of Connect Charity, and Dave Reynolds, an author and motivational speaker.

Ros gave great insight into how charities can apply more effectively for grants. She has kindly offered to speak directly with any local charity that would like some more information. For more information, call her on 07976 446096 or email ros_taylor@yahoo.co.uk or visit www.connect charity.co.uk

Dave spoke about his interesting life as a salesman and businessman and how he wants to encourage us all to achieve greater success and have more fun. For more information, visit www.davereynolds.com

The next meeting will be at the Christ Church Centre in Reading Road, Henley on Tuesday, January 21, 2014. For more information, visit www.thehenleypartnership. co.uk/henley-charities-together
