Fifth annual choir festival stars Gloria

DETAILS of the fifth annual choir festival in Henley have been announced.

DETAILS of the fifth annual choir festival in Henley have been announced.

Ten choirs have already signed up for the event which is to be held at St Mary the Virgin church in Hart Street on January 25 next year.

Some of the participants include choirs from St Mary’s, St Nicholas in Rotherfield Greys, All Saints in Peppard, as well as choirs from Harpsden, Shiplake, Dunsden, Hambleden Valley and St John the Baptist in Kidmore End.

The combined choirs, together with other singers, will be performing Vivaldi’s Gloria. A rehearsal will be held on the day at 4.30pm ahead of the performance at 7pm.

Tickets for both performers and spectators are £5 and are available on the door from 2pm.

Money raised from the event will be donated to several charities.

The choir festival was launched in 2009 by Elizabeth Hodgkin who was mayor at the time and is one of the current organisers.
