Dog signs removed

SIGNS warning dog owners to clean up after their dogs have been torn down from Makins recreation ground in Henley.

SIGNS warning dog owners to clean up after their dogs have been torn down from Makins recreation ground in Henley.

David Eggleton, of the Gainsborough Residents’ Association, said: “We don’t know whether it is kids or adults who did it but whether the signs are there or not the penalty fines stay in place.”

Mr Eggleton had asked South Oxfordshire District Council to provide four warning stickers which he attached to card and put up around the area.

He said residents had been concerned about dog owners letting their pets loose in the enclosed area and failing to clear up after them. The district council has agreed to replace the signs.

Dog owners who fail to clear up after their animals can be fined up to £1,000.
