Members of the Wargrave local history society held their annual Christmas party last Tuesday (9).

Members of the Wargrave local history society held their annual Christmas party last Tuesday (9).

The party was held at the society’s usual meeting place at the Old Pavilion in Recreation Road, Wargrave.

Members looked at old photographs of the village before they were served mulled wine, home-made blackberry and apple pies and mince pies made by resident Wendy Smith.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, January 13, when Trevor Ottlewski will talk about purpose-built villages which have been created by philanthropists in the last 200 years.

On Tuesday, February 10 Peter Hearn will speak about the history of Hennerton Golf Club.



On Tuesday, March 10, the society will hold its annual meeting.

Meetings are held in the Old Pavilion at 8pm.
