THE 224th meeting was held at Badgemore Park Golf Club on Thursday, April 9.
Mary Barrett stood in as chairman due to the absence of Pam Richardson.
She welcomed the many members present and also two guests, Melanie Free and Julia Perry.
There were eight apologies for absence due to the meeting being held over the Easter holiday.
The March minutes were read, approved and signed.
Members were reminded of the May charity meeting and asked to buy raffle tickets and Audrey Richardson reminded members of the value of “RAG” for Cancer Research UK.
The acting chairman then introduced the speaker Graham Chandler, who gave a very comprehensive and interesting talk about tracing ancestors using DNA.
As this was a ladies’ meeting, Graham took the opportunity to go down the female side of DNA as well as touching on the male side.
The next meeting, for charity, will be held on May 14 when Sue Prior will be talking about Henley youth and community project Nomad.
