Room re-used

A DISUSED building at Goring station is to be recycled.

A DISUSED building at Goring station is to be recycled.

The old staff room on the central platform has been removed to make space for a new footbridge with passenger lifts.

It was carefully dismantled at the Goring and Streatley Local History Society’s request so that heritage railways could reuse the bricks.

The Cholsey and Wallingford Railway will use some of the bricks to build a new station at Wallingford.

The rest will go towards a signal box on the Swindon and Cricklade Railway.
