ABOUT 50 members of Women?s Institutes from across South Oxfordshire attended a royal garden party in London to celebrate the organisation?s centenary.
A coach picked up the women in Nettlebed on Tuesday last week and took them to the event at Buckingham Palace.
Representatives from the Henley, Harpsden, Shiplake, Stoke Row, Sonning Common, Benson, Cleeve-by-Goring, Greys and Woodcote branches were among those on board.
The coach parked on The Mall and the women walked to the palace, where they enjoyed refreshments on the rear lawn along with 8,000 WI members from across the country.
The Duchess of Cornwall, the Countess of Wessex and Princess Alexandra were there to greet guests along with a group of Yeomen warders.
Organiser Lucy Trine said: ?It was a lovely day ? the only problem was that the wind kept blowing our hats off so many of us left them on the coach.
?Everything was immaculately presented and the royals looked beautiful.?
