Reading District Oddfellows news

WE are hosting a range of taster events to celebrate Friendship Month in September.

The society’s awareness month, now in its sixth year, aims to bring communities closer together and to highlight the importance of friendship.

Debbie Jex, Reading district secretary, said: "We want to create opportunities for people to get out and about and do something with someone — to have fun together and hopefully start new friendships.

"Everyone’s welcome to come along to our events. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy a taste of what the Oddfellows can offer as a friendship group."

The society’s events are either free or inexpensive to attend and this month include a Macmillan coffee morning.

You are welcome to join us at the world’s biggest coffee morning at 10.30am on Thursday, September 24 at Oddfellows Hall, 118b Oxford Road, Reading, RG1 7NQ, just five minutes’ walk from Reading town centre. Branches also meet in Henley. For more information, call Debbie on 0118 957 3354 or email debbie.jex@oddfellows.co.uk
