A NEW foraging group gathered mushrooms, berries and edible plants on a tour of Wargrave.

A NEW foraging group gathered mushrooms, berries and edible plants on a tour of Wargrave.

Members walked three miles from Hare Hatch Sheeplands garden centre to Bowsey Hill and back again on Saturday. Back at the garden centre they enjoyed refreshments and talked about their finds.

Hare Hatch Sheeplands owner Rob Scott, who led the group with foraging enthusiast Dawn Morris, said: “It was a very successful first outing and we will certainly continue to meet on an informal basis.”

Member Matt Taylor, from Twyford, added: “It was a thoroughly enjoyable morning. We found edible mushrooms, toadstools and nettles plus plenty of blackberries, some sloes and some rose hips.”

If you would like to join the group, send an email to info@hhsheep.co.uk
