WE are delighted to announce that Santa Claus is joining us once again for the annual Christmas float tour.
Each year this allows us to collect on behalf of local charities, including Bishopswood Special School to which we recently donated £10,000.
As in previous years, the dates when the float will visit different parts of town are being published in advance to enable families to make sure that they are at home when Santa tours their neighbourhood or to go and find him in another part of town on a different evening.
What’s more, we will again be taking advantage of social media to help ensure that families don’t miss out on the chance to see Santa.
“Unfortunately Santa doesn’t allow GPS tracking so instead we get regular updates from his helpers as they share where he is in Henley,” says chairman George Thomas.
“Despite his usual global punctuality, sometimes even Santa has to change his plans. We’ll make sure that up-to-date route maps for each evening of the float are tweeted @HenleyRT on Santa’s behalf. You’ll also be able to see updates on our website and on our Facebook page.”
Santa will be visiting between Saturdays, December 5 and 12 inclusive.
Round Table currently plans to visit roads in the following areas during the week:
December 5 Blandy Road, Makins Road, King James Way, upper St Andrew’s Road.
December 6 King’s Road, Crisp Road, Luker Avenue, Greys Road, Greys Hill, Church Street.
December 8 Shiplake.
December 9 Park Road, Reading Road, Harpsden Road, Noble Road.
December 10 St Mark’s Road, Gainsborough estate, lower St Andrew’s Road.
December 11 Peppard Road, Vicarage Road, Berkshire Road, Western Road.
December 12 Valley Road, Deanfield Road, Elizabeth Road.
