Rotary Club raises £1,509 for RNLI

THE Rotary Club of Henley Bridge held its annual carols dinner on December 16 at Badgemore Park Golf Club, the usual venue for its Wednesday evening meetings.

The Henley Carol Singers gave a wonderful performance of carols old and new. The singers encouraged members to join in the well-known, traditional carols.

This year the singers were raising money for Henley YMCA and a bucket was passed round, raising £300.

The club also took the opportunity to present a cheque for £1,509 to the RNLI. The money was raised at the Henley half marathon in October and, as usual, the RNLI was one of the designated charities.

The cheque was presented to Tony Hobbs, who founded the half marathon event, on behalf of the charity by club president Joy Arnott.
