Hall blinds request

A THEATRE group in Wargrave wants blackout blinds at the hall where it stages its productions.

A THEATRE group in Wargrave wants blackout blinds at the hall where it stages its productions.

Wargrave Theatre Workshop has asked the parish council to install the blinds at Woodclyffe Hall, a listed building in High Street.

The blinds would be used to improve the lighting during shows and prevent light escaping from the hall.

Parish clerk Stephen Hedges said: “The blinds are fire retardant and chain operated but those windows are huge and the chains would have to hang from the top.

“There could be health and safety issues and it could be quite intrusive.”

Chairman Richard Bush said: “We have no objections... we could do this with a motorised unit which would eliminate the need for chains.”
