Henley Probus Club

THE May meeting was, as normal, the club&rsquos annual general meeting.

Members were updated on the summer programme, including a garden tea at Phyllis Court Club and a trip to the Watermill Theatre in Newbury.

After the usual business it is customary for new members to give a brief résumé of their backgrounds and interests.

Due to time constraints, several newcomers had already spoken at earlier gatherings so the honour this year fell upon Peter Biddlecombe.

Peter&rsquos career was in the Royal Air Force. He trained as a pilot at Cranwell after which he served in Fighter Command and the Middle East.

After his military service, Peter spent 12 years in the civil service and in retirement golf and shooting are part of his pastime activities.

We are always ready to welcome new members to our monthly meetings, held on the second Tuesday of the month.
