Sweet reward

Beaver scouts in Sonning Common raised £100 for charity by eating Smarties. The 24 children

Beaver scouts in Sonning Common raised £100 for charity by eating Smarties. The 24 children replaced the sweets in their tubes with money. The proceeds will go towards the scouts’ national Million Hands Appeal in aid of water pipes and pumps for children in Ethiopia. As part of the project the beavers learned about the life of a seven-year-old in Ethiopia and how to make a water filter.  Beaver scout Leader Elizabeth Bellew said: “We want to help our young people keep their promise to help other people.”
