THE girl behind a campaign to equip 10 schools in the Henley area with life-saving equipment is to have surgery later this month.
Millie Roberts, who has a heart and lung condition, will be fitted with a device that will allow her heart rate to be continuously monitored.
The Reveal Insertable Cardiac Monitor will be implanted just beneath the skin in her chest during a simple procedure to be carried out at Great Ormond Street children’s hospital in London.
The device will monitor and record heart rhythms in the form of an electrocardiogram.
Millie’s mother Sarah said: “The device is like a memory stick and will allow us to have 365-day monitoring of her heart rhythm.
