Tennis club secretary stands down after 28 years

THE match secretary of Watlington Tennis Club has stood down after 28 years.

Ann Jollye says she never imagined that she would remain in the post for so long.

“It wasn’t my intention at all but the committees kept changing and I was the only one who was able to continue,” she said.

“It’s an administrative job so once you have it under control it is straightforward and when it became computerised it became even easier.”

Miss Jollye, a former secretary and carpenter, who lives in The Goggs, Watlington, joined the club when she moved to the town 30 years ago.
