DRIVERS continued to be affected by the floods today as road closures remained in place and accidents made the problem worse.
Playhatch Road, between Sonning Bridge and Playhatch, has now been closed for a week.
Traffic was affected by more people going back to work today and there was gridlock for drivers using alternative routes on Wargrave Road, Reading Road and Remenham Hill.
A crash between a police car and an Audi A3 on the M4 and an accident involving a van and a pedestrian in Tilehurst Road, Reading, also created traffic jams.
There were long queues on the A4, stretching back to the BP service station off London Road in Reading.
New Street in Henley, which was closed due to flooding in River Side, re-opened on Saturday and Thames Side is also open again.
Flood warnings remain in place in communities along the River Thames between Henley and Medmenham and in Caversham but have been lifted in Goring and Whitchurch.
The Environment Agency says the Thames remains very high but the water level is falling slowly. It said property flooding remains possible for homes near the river where warnings are still in place.
