Video: Flood warnings lifted

MORE flood warnings have been lifted despite more heavy rain last night.

Property flooding is no longer expected in Caversham or at homes near the River Loddon in Wargrave and Charvil.

Warnings remain in place along the Thames in communities between Henley and Medmenham and in Wargrave and Shiplake.

Playhatch Road, between Sonning Bridge and Playhatch, remains closed despite a warning for the area being lifted yesterday. Remenham Lane is also shut.

The road closures continue to cause traffic chaos for drivers, with long queues in Wargrave Road, Remenham Hill and Reading Road as drivers seek alternative routes.

The Environment Agency says that river levels are falling but will remain high and on the floodplain for at least days.

It said the river remains “sensitive” to rainfall after rain over the past two evenings.

The Met Office forecasts heavy rain this evening and further showers tomorrow.
