A FOOTPATH in Watlington has been fenced off to prevent it being used.
The majority of the W4 footpath is now inaccessible after Beechwood Estates, which owns the surrounding land, installed the 5ft wire mesh fence topped with barbed wire.
Ramblers have walked the mile-long section of open grassland for more than two decades using this path, which is marked with white arrows by the Chiltern Society.
This was because the official path was inaccessible due to the spread of vegetation over many years.
Now this route, which runs along a hollow, has been cleared by the estate for use by walkers and W4 fenced off.
