A WOMAN from Peppard Common is taking part in a TV interior design competition, which starts on Monday.
Lynne Lambourne, 39, is one of 24 amateur designers taking part in BBC2’s The Great Interior Design Challenge.
Each evening next week, three contestants will go head-to-head with the challenge of transforming a room in 48 hours with a £1,000 budget. The winner from each night will go through to the final stages of the competition before one is crowned Britain’s best amateur home designer.
Mrs Lambourne says the experience has encouraged her to turn her passion for interiors into a full-time career. She said: “I was doing interior design very casually for friends before the show but being part of it has given me confidence and I have proved to myself that I can work to a very tight budget.”
She was encouraged to take part in the programme by her friend Sarah Kirk, with whom she launched the Love Local Market in Henley in 2011. Mrs Lambourne, whose house has been used for advertising shoots, said: “Sarah said that I had to go for it because I am always doing stuff around my home and I really enjoy it. She printed off all the forms for me and I just thought, ‘why not?’”
