STORMS disrupted sports fixtures in and around Henleyat the weekend.
Henley Rugby Club’s match against Cinderford at Dry Leas on Saturday had to be stopped for eight minutes due to a heavy rain and a hail storm. The wind was so strong that a corner flag was uprooted and hurled towards the half-way line.
Play did continue and the Hawks succumbed to a 12-5 defeat in their National League 1 clash.
Rain affected many football fixtures over the weekend with only 12 of the 45 matches in the Reading & District Sunday League being played.
Henley Town Football Club haven’t played any first team games at the Triangle Ground in Mill Lane since December 17 due to flooding.
