Pensioner died after fall while shopping

A WOMAN from Henley died after she fell over during a shopping trip, an inquest heard.

Marjorie Stringer, 93, of Wargrave Road, was said to have banged her head while in High Wycombe on September 30.

Reading Coroner’s Court heard that eyewitnesses described her hitting her head after tripping over her walking stick.

Mrs Stringer, who had suffered a series of falls in the past, was taken by ambulance to Wexham Park Hospital in Slough, where medical staff kept her under observation for the rest of the day before allowing her to return home.

However, on October 26, she was rushed to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading after becoming unwell.
