Twins celebrate 21st birthday with ‘bubble football’

BIRTHDAY bumps took on a whole new meaning for twins Sam and Elliott Quelch.

The brothers, from Nettlebed, celebrated their 21st birthday by hosting a game of “bubble football” on the artificial pitch at Henley Rugby Club, where they are both members of the third XV.

All the players in the five-a-side match wrote giant plastic bubbles which meant they could crash into each other instead of tackling without hurting themselves.

Sam, a student, said: “We wanted to do something different and I learned about it on YouTube. A lot of Hawks players turned up and were just like ‘what is this? It looks fantastic’.

“The focus of the game is to annihilate each other but you can play bulldog, five-a-side football and loads of games. With our group of friends especially this is rather attractive.” Elliott, an apprentice bench joiner, added: “It was a fun and enjoyable thing to do with all our friends.”
