Team and individual honours for young showjumpers

A TEAM from Woodland Hunt Pony Club beat 17 others to win a showjumping competition.

Charlotte Bagshawe, 12, from Henley, Maddy Dudley, 13, from, Woodcote, Jessie Burrough-Haq, 12, from Stonor, and Ella Bollon, 11, from Wallingford, came top in the 80cm jumping class at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, near Milton Keynes.

Maddy also won the 90cm individual class in a qualifier for the Dengie Winter League Championships while Jessie came first in the introduction dressage competition.

Ella’s father Garry said: “The girls had a fantastic day and were very pleased with the results. Special thanks to their team instructor Posy Knapp.” The club, which began in 1950, holds most of its rallies in Harpsden Woods but its 100 members ride around the country.
