£1,000 for more flowers

GORING Gap in Bloom has been awarded £1,000 to plant more flowers in the village.

The money will pay for three new floral troughs at the Wheel Orchard car park off Station Road and a bed of daffodils in Cleeve Road.

It will also be put towards a number of planters at Goring Parish Council’s offices in Red Cross Road and outside The Arcade and Goring Free Church in High Street.

The Goring Gap in Bloom committee also hopes to put a planter in front of Rectory Gardens if it gets permission from the parish council, which owns the land.

It applied for the grant from Oxfordshire County Council’s community budget last month and the village’s county councillor Kevin Bulmer sponsored the bid.
