A SAXOPHONIST from Henley walked away with £5,000 after winning a competition for young musicians.
Huw Wiggin, 27, won the wind and percussion section of the 2014 Royal Overseas League Arts Competition.
He will now compete against the winners of the other sections — singing, piano and strings — for a prize of £10,000 and a gold medal at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London on May 6.
Mr Wiggin, who now lives in London, grew up in Henley and is a former pupil of Gillotts School.
He won a scholarship to study at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester before going on to achieve a first from the Royal Northern College of Music.
