Protect green spaces as town grows, say residents

WATLINGTON’S green spaces should be retained as the town develops, say residents.

This was one of many suggestions put forward at the first public consultation on the town’s neighbourhood plan.

Others included building a by-pass, introducing a 20mph speed limit, banning heavy goods vehicles, increasing the amount of on-street parking and improving bus services.

Residents also suggested building a swimming pool, banning carrier bags, providing more dog bins and creating a cycle path to Lewknor.

More than 200 people attended the consultation which took place at Watlington Memorial Club in High Street on Friday and Saturday.
