Saleswoman retires after 20 years

A SALES assistant has retired from the Clarks shoe shop in Henley after 10 years.

Jenny Hawkins, 67, worked for the chain for two decades, the second one at the store in Bell Street.

Mrs Hawkins, of Beech Rise, Sonning Common, used to be branch manager but switched to a part-time sales assistant role two years ago.

She previously worked at the Clarks branches in Maidenhead, Marlow and Reading as well as independent business Chapman’s Shoes in Reading.

Mrs Hawkins’ colleagues threw her a retirement party at the store, where she was showered with gifts including a handbag, two bouquets of flowers and a box of chocolates.
