£250 grant helps gymnast take on world

A TEENAGE gymnast from Lower Shiplake has won a grant to enable her to compete against the best in the world.

Hannah Bradbury, 13, of Brocks Way, was awarded £250 by South Oxfordshire District Council in recognition of her sporting achievements.

She was one of 21 young people, aged 11 to 18, who each received a £250 grant and a certificate as part of the district council’s young achievers awards.

Hannah, who qualified for the GB aerobic gymnastics squad last year, will compete individually and in the team event at the Aerobics FIG World Cup in Borovets, Bulgaria, on May 7.

She is also currently trialling to compete at the 2014 Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships to be held in Cancun, Mexico, in June.
