MP backs HS2

JOHN HOWELL has backed the HS2 high-speed rail link between London and the West Midlands.

The Henley MP voted for the Government Bill when it was approved at a second reading in the Commons on Tuesday by 452 votes to 41.

Mr Howell said only five per cent of residents in Thame, the nearest town in his constituency to the proposed route, had raised concerns when he canvassed their views.
