Doctor retires after 32 years at village surgery

A GP who has worked at the same practice in Benson for more than 30 years will retire next month.

Dr Peter Rose, 61, is a partner at the Mill Stream Surgery, which used to be in Mill Lane when he arrived in March 1982 from Shipston-on-Stour in Warwickshire.

He said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working in Benson.

“It has been a great privilege to be a doctor in the community because people are very kind and considerate to each other. That has made doctoring that little bit easier.

“The practice is wonderful — I can’t speak highly enough about the staff, who are all so caring and committed.
