Protecting Chilterns

A PLAN outlining how the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty should be looked after over the next five years has been published.

It was compiled by the Chilterns Conservation Board with the help of local organisations and communities, such as parish councils, wildlife trusts, the National Trust and the Chiltern Society.

The board says the Chilterns face many pressures, especially from the plans for HS2 and housing developments.

Ian Reay, who chairs the board, said: “The plan is a collective expression of the interests and wishes of many individuals and organisations that care about the Chilterns and as such it is truly a plan for the whole AONB.”

Copies of the plan are available to read in local libraries and it can be downloaded from www.chilternsaonb.org/management-plan
