RESIDENTS of a care home enjoyed an indoor street party to mark the 70th anniversary of D-Day.
The 95 pensioners at the Sunrise care home in Sonning sat at long tables, eating traditional picnic food while Forties music was played.
The home was decorated with bunting, Union flags and old newspaper clippings and staff dressed as Land Girls while others wore Second World War forces uniforms.
Residents who had served during the conflict wore their campaign medals.
Later on there was tea, ice cream and a performance of Forties jazz songs by cabaret singer Mr Swing.
Gai McNeile, from the home, said: Everyone really enjoyed it and it brought back a lot of memories. The staff organised it and they had a lot of fun too.
