A MOTHER-of-four from Peppard has fulfilled a life-long dream to tackle the “Mount Everest of sailing”.
Virginia Davis, 48, set sail for the first time in 20 years to take on the rough and dangerous waters of Cape Horn, off the southern coast of Chile in South America.
She was one of eight sailors who joined four permanent crew membes on board a 100-year-old Dutch gaff ketch ship, called the Tecla.
Mrs Davis, who is deaf, travelled from New Zealand to Cape Horn, the Falkland Islands and South America.
She was away from her Church Lane home for three months from October to December last year.
