Sunshine helps school fete raise a record £5,500

A SUMMER fete at Goring Primary School raised a record £5,500 for sports and computer equipment.

Saturday’s event opened with a performance by the school orchestra, conducted by teacher Elizabeth Parkinson.

They played It’s A Long Way To Tipperary, English Country Garden and This Little Light Of Mine. The school choir then gave a brief recital.

The fete included a cake and cream tea stall and a cake competition judged by Caroline Pierrepont, of Pierreponts café in Goring.

The winner was Linda Till, whose daughter Rosie is a pupil.
