FILM star Jeremy Irons helped a Watlington children’s nursery celebrate its 30th birthday by cutting a cake.
More than £6,000 was raised for the Rainbow Corner Day Nursery at the fete, which was held on the playing field at Icknield Community College on Saturday.
Attractions included a classic car display, bouncy jousting, coconut shy and children’s face-painting and there was live music from calypso band Studio 5 and the Emily Dankworth Jazz Trio.
Irons, who has a home in the town, was joined by his wife, actress Sinéad Cusack.
She said: “Our kids went to Rainbow and we rate the nursery so highly. It’s been here 30 years now and is very important to Watlington.”
