School summer fair in aid of equipment

ALMOST £1,000 was raised at Benson Primary School’s summer fair on Saturday.

Attractions included music, pony rides, book and sweet stalls, a bouncy castle, face painting, a tombola, bar and barbecue. The proceeds will go towards classroom items such as interactive whiteboards and books as well as playground equipment.

Harriet Render, chairwoman of the school’s Friends, said: “It’s probably the biggest fund-raiser of the year and we couldn’t do without it.”

Headteacher Helen Crolla said: “It’s very important for the community, the parents and children, to come together.

“I would like to thank Harriet and the Friends of Benson School for all the effort they put in.”
