Open afternoon at farm

AN open day will be held at Chalkhouse Farm in Chalkhouse Green on Sunday (2pm to 6pm).

Attractions will include a rare breeds animal display, heavy horse demonstrations, pony and donkey rides, swimming and vintage tractor and trailer rides. There will also be wildlife trails, ball games and a vintage farm technology display in the newly built “ancient” barn. The 18th century-style flower and walled vegetable gardens will be open and visitors will also be able to taste honey from beehives on the farm.

The proceeds will go to the National Garden Scheme and Soundabout, a charity which supports severely disabled children and adults through music. Entry costs £3.50 but is free for children under 16, wheelchair users and carers.
