‘Fairy godmother’ marks 20 years as village nanny

A NANNY celebrated 20 years of business with a tea party for the families she had worked for.

Cathy Pritchard-Gordon, 47, has run a mini-nursery from her home in Victoria Road, Wargrave, since 1994 when she decided to switch from being a live-in nanny.

Since then she has looked after almost 90 children from the village and has become known as a “fairy godmother” by parents.

More than 60 of her former charges, some of whom are now as old as 24, attended the tea party at the scout hut in Recreation Road.

The guests were served cakes and sandwiches and tea or coffee with soft drinks for the children.
