Can I have 40 lemonades please, landlord?

THERE was quite a sight outside the Flower Pot in Aston a couple of Sundays ago.

Forty Harley-Davidson motorcycles appeared when members of the Chelsea and Fulham Owners’ Group stopped for refreshments. It was the second year running they had done this and ride captain Mick Newstead explained: “We ride out of London and it’s sort of a halfway stop for us.

“It’s a nice area and easy to park and the manager’s always welcoming.”

Tony Thatcher, who runs the pub with his wife Pat, said: “We like to have them here. You’d never see a group of Harley-Davidsons together like that normally.”

The bikers rode on to Christmas Common and Watlington before stopping for lunch at the St George and Dragon in Wargrave.
