AFTER the recent heatwave, I should perhaps remind you of the old adage that it never rains but it pours.
An inch of rain, half of last month’s total, fell on one day, June 13.
Together with the sunshine, this certainly benefited people with gardens or allotments full of soft fruit or vegetables.
The temperature in June exceeded 20C on 24 days, giving a mean maximum of 21.5C, almost two degrees above the average for the month. The lowest overnight temperature was 4C.
