School music festival to raise funds

LANGTREE School in Woodcote is to hold a community music festival to raise money for a new sports pitch.

The event, called Langstock, will include performances by bands made up of current and former pupils.

It will be open to anyone who lives in the village. There will also be a barbecue, bar, stalls and other activities.

The academy school in Reading Road was given planning permission for a floodlit artificial pitch last month.

Sport England has given a £110,000 grant towards the cost. The remaining £90,000 will come from grants and fundraising.
