A GARDENING group in Sonning Common has bought new equipment thanks to a donation.
The Village Gardeners now have a water bowser, which holds enough water to fill six watering cans, following a £250 grant from Sonning Common Parish Council.
The group launched in 2009 and has about 25 members who have helped to transform the village centre, with grass verges, wheelbarrows and a red telephone box all being turned into floral features.
Chrissie Phillips-Tilbury, a parish councillor who runs the group, said: “It is roughly the size of a pushchair and being a mother and grandmother I am used to those!
“It makes life much easier. You just charge it up and then it can be used to water all the planters and tubs.”
